Things To Do

Our local area is full of amazing attractions, adorable villages, days out and shopping experiences!

We are within the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that is the Forest of Bowland, which presents fantastic opportunities for bird watching and other wildlife watching.

As well as the specific locations we suggest, there are several local towns that are worth a look:

Clitheroe – A traditional market town in the heart of the Ribble Valley and just a short walk (less than a mile) from Shireburne Park. Explore boutique shops, galleries and eateries. More details about the Clitheroe Castle & Museum below.

Whalley – A sizeable village with many designer clothing shops, coffee places and a fabulous wine bar.

Skipton – A Yorkshire market town with famous high street – awarded Most Courteous Town in 2016 – and well-preserved castle.

Waddington – Less than a mile away, enjoy its babbling brook and the beautiful Coronation Gardens.

Whitewell – An historical town with Middle Bronze Age and Roman relics, wander along the winding River Hodder.

Bashall Eaves – Just two miles from us, the beautiful Bashall Eaves features the award-winning Browsholme Hall, the Fairy Bridge ( Saddle Bridge ) , plus a plethora of fantastic eating and drinking options.

The Lake District and Blackpool are only a 45 minute drive from us, so you’re by no means confined to the Ribble Valley!
